Five Quick Tips for learning theory in Nursing School:

Download lecture notes before the lecture so that you edit them and add extra information while your lecture/professor is teaching. This ensures that you don’t have to write word for word notes and you can concentrate on understanding the lecture.

Redrawing diagrams or organs (doesn’t have to resemble art!) aides retention and comprehension. For example, the RAAS system.

If you’re struggling with a concept or skill, try rewatching the lecture and or watch some Youtube videos on the topic as listening to different teaching styles helps with comprehension.

Memorisation is key for some topics including drug suffixes (I know pharmacology can be difficult). Rewriting these on flashcards can help.

Test yourself with online quizzes and practise questions as this will make you more comfortable when studying for exams and will consolidate your learning.
